Featured Material / / PEKK for FDM
For harsh environment applications, Fathom’s additive manufacturing service customers have a new material option to consider—the team is excited to introduce the availability of PEKK for fused deposition modeling (FDM). Announced under the name of Antero 800NA, Stratasys recently launched the PEKK-based thermoplastic to meet an increasing demand for an additive material option with high strength, toughness, high heat/chemical resistance and minimal outgassing.

These superior qualities make it a lighter alternative to aluminum and steel with the advantage of greater design freedom possible only by using additive technologies—part consolidation, lightweighting, organic geometries, high complexity, faster speeds, mass customization and higher value problem-solving.
Another advantage of leveraging an additive manufacturing process for PEKK-based parts allows Fathom customers to produce on-demand. Taking a tool-less approach to production by way of FDM means you can fabricate what you need, when you need it, using the latest file revision.
